Class Activity

A few days before the fifth week of class, Mr. Wong posted some "STOCKN NOTES" in the class group that we would need to use in the fifth week of class and asked us to prepare them in advance.

In the fifth week of class, Mr. Wong explained the tasks we need to do in groups.
Since I didn't have any acquaintances, Mr. Wong assigned me to two classmates to complete the task.
Our task is to brainstorm the functions of a travel app.

Anyway, we just list the functions that this kind of app needs by putting labels (i.e. STOCKN NOTES) on it↓.
So here ↑ is the result of our group discussion.
Then the next task is for the group to freely discuss a "brainstorm" of any type of app and make it in miro.

Our group plans to make a music app and this ↑ is the result of our group discussion.

Project 02:UI/UX Design Document

In the fifth week of class, I only knew that I needed to design the application based on my project 1. But I may not have asked clearly at that time, and I thought I had to redesign the prototype of the application (because at that time I only knew that I needed to do the "mind map? Brainstorming" of my own project in the form of class group activities).
I looked at my own project 1 and felt that the 4399 Game Box application was too unpopular, 😅 with very low domestic and international popularity. Therefore, I chose the "TapTap" application in the PPT of my project 1 as a comparison.
I took screenshots of these ↓ pages based on the app "TapTap"...
and video recorded on each page.
Then the following is my general "brainstorming" of the functions of the "TapTap" application.
Then Mr. Wong said that I needed to set up the system and specifically refer to the application interface to write the label 🏷.
This↓is the first version of the questionnaire document I completed.
I need to modify my questionnaire based on this ↓ file.

Then, this↓is the questionnaire document I finally wrote based on the feedback.
So this is what the Google survey looks like↓.
Then Mr. Wong told me that the interview part needs at least 3 people, preferably with a video. I don’t have to take a picture of the interviewee’s face, but I must to take videos.
I asked if I could use Chinese to talk in the video interview room, and then I would show English in the subtitles of the video. He said I could just translate it back to English.

So, the following↓3 are the interview videos I recorded.
This is the User Journey Map. Mr. Wong looked at it and said the problem is not serious.
Next is the Card Sorting part. I saw in the Whatsapp group that ux tweak is needed to do it.
But before using ux tweak, I first made a "Card Sorting" in miro.

Then select 20 tags? Function in the left column...

Then according to the "Card Sorting" in uxtweak, 7 results were analyzed.
The following↓is uxtweak’s data analysis based on my 7 results.

The following↓is the Information Architecture based on the 7 results.

Finally, I made a flowchart of how to register/log in 4399 Game Box and how to play the game after logging in.
Then, by coincidence, when I just wrote this, Mr. Wong took a look and said that my flowchart still lacked some functions and some of the graphics in the process were not used accurately.
According to page 23 of his lecture PPT "9 UIUX Design Document -Site map and user flow.pdf",
These are the parts that really need to be changed.
Then the changed flowchart is as follow↓.
I showed him the same final MVP Features and it wasn’t a big problem.

Week 5 2024.10.21
Our group activities this week? The tasks were completed quite well (although I didn't help much and just made some unnecessary suggestions). The final speech was also given by my group members. When Mr. Wong asked us to evaluate each other at the end, I could only say "Good👍" and that was it.

Week 6 
I missed classes this week (my alarm clock ⏰ didn't wake me up 😅) so no feedback.

Week 7 2024.11.04
Because I was absent from a class last week, I looked confused when I saw Mr. Wong checking the progress of other students' projects. Then when Mr. Wong asked me if I hadn't done anything, I looked embarrassed, and he said come on. It needs to be checked before next week. Then I asked him what he needed to do and told him to show it to him in class on Thursday.

Week 7 2024.11.07
I gave the "mind map? Brainstorming" I made to Mr. Wong to check and the feedback he gave me was "I need my system to write each label specifically according to each function of the app🏷", and then after I re- After writing it again, I was asked to delete some unnecessary functions and add some new functions on the basis of the original functions (the deleted ones are marked in red, and the new ones are in green).

Then regarding the documentation of the questionnaire I needed to do, the feedback he gave me was this.

This week is a self-study week, so there will be no classes and no feedback.

Week 9 2024.11.18
Mr. Wong asked me if I had made any changes based on the feedback from week 7. I hesitated and said that I was busy with other course assignments last week and I didn’t understand your feedback. Then that week I revised my questionnaire document under his supervision or guidance.I roughly determined how many survey results and interviews I needed to collect.

Week 9 2024.11.21
I have learned from Mr. Wong that at least 50 survey data results need to be collected. Video interviews are best. At least 3 are required.

And I told him directly that I did it based on the blog of this senior student. He said that my reference was correct and that I also needed to do what this student needed to do.

Week 10 2024.11.25
I learned from Mr. Wong that I needed to do "Card Sorting" and he recommended me to use uxtweak to do this.

Week 10 2024.11.28
I asked Mr. Wong how to change and save the "cards?" I set in uxtweak? I learned that I need to collect at least 7 "Card Sorting" data in uxtweak to make an information architecture diagram and also need to make a usage flow chart of a function of the application being analyzed.

Week 11 2024.12.02
Mr. Wong checked my flow chart and told me that there were some missing features. I said that I only made the process of installing and downloading the game function of this game market app (by the way, the user’s initial registration/login application) community function. I felt that it had little connection with this application or the homepage of this application. He explained to me which parts needed to be completed based on the lecture PPT he sent (for me, it was modification) and gave me suggestions on how to complete it. The process of community function is inserted into this flow chart.
Reflections
Experience
From offline brainstorming in class activities to application brainstorming in personal assignments, from writing questionnaires to actual interviews, from card sorting to building an information framework diagram based on the card sorting data and even to the final flowchart, each experience is from ignorance to familiarity, and then back to ignorance in familiarity, over and over again.

Observation
From what I have observed, Mr. Wong is more concerned with the actual project results or outcomes than the blog content. In other words, blogging is not the main focus of his class.

Findings
After ten weeks of classes, I realized that the assignments and instructions were all in the lecture PowerPoint or in the lecture materials he sent to the WhatsApp group.
