Introduction to Experiential Design
• What is Experiential Design? Examples and showcase

To quote Class GPT Assistant (TDS XD Assistant):

Experiential Design focuses on creating immersive and interactive experiences that engage users through physical, digital, or a combination of both mediums. The core concept of experiential design is to design for engagement, ensuring that users interact with environments, products, or services in a meaningful way. This approach extends beyond the aesthetics or functionality of a product—it emphasizes the user's emotional and sensory engagement during the interaction.

In my own words, it is a design that involves both immersive design and interactive design, including "AR"(Augmented Reality)and "VR"(Virtual Reality)

I won't give examples of VR, but an obvious example of AR is ↓ Can be used in reality.

  1. In-class activity
Mr. Razif Mohamed taught us some UI/UX professional terms in experience design.

    -XD:Experience Design
    -UX:User Experience
    -UI:User Interface
    -CX:Customer Experience

    -BX:Brand Experience
    -IxD:Interaction Design
    -SD:Service Design
    -IA:Information rchitecture

Mr. Razif Mohamed asked me, who was sitting in the back row, to form a team with the student in the second to last row to design a CURRENTJOURNEY MAP as shown below.

Then this ↓ is what our group did.

And explain our ↑ design in class (even though I didn't help at all with the presentation).

  2. Off-class progress
Mr Razif said I missed the Task 2 in this.
  • Shopping Mall
So, the specific use case of AR in  the the shopping mall is as shown in the figure below ↓

Derived from the iPhone's internal "Distance Finder" app

We can measure the length, width, height and other values of items when shopping in a mall, as well as the distance from one area to another.
  • Kitchen
This will be supplemented. Pictures and examples are still being found...

2024.10.22, I finally found it!

I found an app that can be used to scan the current room and simulate the layout of the current room, whether it is 2D or 3D, and then you can use the items in the app's resource library to simulate the placement.Click here to download or install.

The following ↓ are the effect pictures.

You really want to ask what I did in the w3-w4, right?
By chance, maybe when other students were using Unity to do their projects...

I'm so worried about not being able to install Unity software.I asked Mr. Razif Mohamed how to solve this problem. He informed the solution he had inquired about from ChatGPT.
The result was obvious. It didn't work. Then after class on October 17, 2024, I asked Mr. Razif Mohamed to install it on my computer in person. He tried for a long time but failed.

And finally, on the third day of that class, I installed it successfully.
Because I downloaded and installed the version "6000.0.23f1" at that time, it was successful.
At that time, Mr. Razif Mohamed wanted me to try to download and install the previous version, but the installation failed again.

So he finally allowed me to use this version.
So according to...
However, there were some small incidents at that time. It was at this step...

I couldn't open it here, so I asked him for a file like this.
After the import is successful...
The following are screenshots of the detailed process I followed step by step according to the tutorial in the second week.

Okay, if I had known that the process required so many steps, I would have recorded it directly as a video or taken screenshots after encountering problems or exported the final step and then took screenshots.

As for the background here, I used a green screen myself, so I slightly edited the background.So...

Reflection
Sometimes I can’t completely trust the AI chat tool. This time, I entered the error message I encountered in the tutorial given by the teacher to the AI, but after asking the AI, it turned out to be self-defeating. I asked the teacher again. The teacher obviously didn’t know how to solve this problem of mine. (Because I didn’t follow the instructions in the tutorial) This led to a big mistake and delayed the progress that was already being delayed.
